The Caverns were stunning. Each room we passed into was worth the trip. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and cheerful - my one complaint was the size of the tour group. We probably had a 100 people in our group. If you get stuck near the back, you can't hear the guide very well. We waited in line about 30 minutes before getting in, but it was well worth the wait. The ancient formations were breathtaking. We were treated to a men's choir singing in the organ chamber while we were there. The sounds of their voices reverberating around the stalactites and stalagmites was unforgettable. The accompanying car museum and toy museum were really neat too!
The caves are beautiful and worth visiting. But the guides are pushing the visitors to do the visit very quickly because they don't really care that you enjoy the visit and leave with good memories. So forget them especially as what they say has no interest at all if you know the basics, and enjoy the beauty. The caves have a lot to show.
Beautiful caverns and definitely worth going there to see them. We had a pleasant guided tour. Personally I found the group to be too big but it worked out well for us since we were in front with the guide. Every turn we took in the caverns were better than the previous. My favorite part was the area where you can see the reflection of the dripping stones. We are lunch at the little cafe next to the museum. The food was alright but nothing special. The service was good though.
It was good. Good for all age groups. Worth visiting it. It was nice tour for about 1 to 1.5 hour long. The tour guide was nice. Good and friendly staff. They have other things too to visit which is included in ticket price like muesum, stores and some free gift too. There is cafe and ice cream Parlour too.
VA is full of spectacular caverns and geological features. Luray Caverns is probably the most commercialized of them. The natural features and wonders are absolutely stunning for sure. The quality of the tour--not so much. Tour guides are pleasant and friendly, but I would really love to hear less of "this is the fish room because the features look like fish" or "that one looks like Snoopy" and more about the actual history and geology, because that part is simply amazing. The size of the group was outrageous, too. We were shipped through like cattle.
I can understand they wanted to allow accessibility to their site, but that's a shame they've put concrete everywhere to have highways in the caves (that's why I won't give 5 stars).
