We stayed at this campground in September of 2014. We have never been down to the area before and really weren't sure what to expect, but we LOVED it there. It was everything to love about camping. The facilities were nice, bathrooms were clean and the showers were hot. We had just a great time that we are booking another trip here in October 2015.
Good alternate campsite when all of Shenandoah Park's campsite have no vacancies. Close to Luray Caverns; Approx 15 mls from closest park entrance.
First time camping here, but looked all around and it seemed to have the best reviews and also located where we intended on hiking around. Let's not forget the price. Yogi Bear CG is over $60 a night! We stayed two nights in a shaded site that came with a picnic table, fire pit, and grill (did not use). There is a bathhouse close by for some hot showers, and running water if you need it, but otherwise it's a basic tent campground. The store stocks small items you may need, or snacks, but not much else. It is a 1/2 mile walk to the river front from the tent sites but it is not very well maintained. Overall our family of 5 had a great time and will come back again if we are in the area!
